Digital Accountant / Senior Digital Accountant

Salary: £24,600 - £37,500 DOE

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic accountant who wants to be strategic, digitally savvy and hands-on with a wide range of business clients.We use the latest and most innovative technology in the industry to automate our clients’ accounting systems, allowing us to focus on adding real value to their businesses, and enabling them to focus on their business success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with business owners to strip away their financial stress and make their lives easier.
  • Deliver seamless daily bookkeeping and maintain precise digital records.
  • Transform raw data into monthly management accounts that help clients to know their numbers.
  • Handle year-end accounts for a diverse portfolio of businesses.
  • Be a friendly face and direct line of support when our clients need assistance.
  • Use the latest accounting tech, including Xero, FreeAgent, Dext, QuickBooks and Sage to help clients streamline and excel.
  • Help spread the word about Gravitate Accounting on various social media platforms

About You

  • A natural collaborator with a positive energy that lifts the team and drives results.
  • A relationship builder who earns trust quickly, with the proven ability to influence and advise both colleagues and clients.
  • A cloud-accounting native, Xero Certified or equivalent, with deep understanding of the wider app ecosystem
  • At least 2 years of experience within an accounting environment
  • Technically sharp across management accounts, monthly reporting, and the design of slick financial processes.

We are looking for a commercially minded Tax Adviser with 3+ years of post-qualified experience (CTA/ACA/ACCA) in a senior advisory capacity.

Gravitate Tax is a modern, fast-growing tax and advisory practice within the Gravitate Digital Group. Based in Sheffield, we are a values-driven, transparent business built on innovation and a people-first culture.

  • Providing senior-level, proactive tax advice across all areas affecting OMBs and private clients.
  • Overseeing complex advisory work including restructuring, employee incentives, share schemes, property structuring, succession/exit planning, and IHT advice (Trusts, Estates & FICs).
  • Managing HMRC enquiries and technical risk.
  • Supporting and mentoring a growing technical team.
  • Refining and expanding Gravitate’s tax offering and contributing to group-wide strategy.

We're looking for enthusiastic, eager-to-learn individuals who want to begin their accounting careers in a modern, technology and culture-driven environment.  

You don't need years of experience, just a genuine interest in numbers, a positive attitude, and the drive to develop your skills alongside a supportive team.

We use the latest industry technology to automate our clients' accounting systems. As an Apprentice Digital Accountant, you'll get hands-on experience with tools that are shaping the future of accounting.

At Gravitate, your education and study is just as important to us as your contribution in the office.

  • Support our team in collaborating with business owners to help strip away their financial stress and make their lives easier.
  • Assist with daily bookkeeping tasks and help maintain accurate digital records.
  • Support clients with Self-Assessment Tax Returns and Digital VAT Returns under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Learn and use the latest accounting tech, including Xero, FreeAgent, Dext, QuickBooks and Sage, developing skills that will set you up for a long-term career in digital accounting.
  • You will work towards a recognised accountancy qualification (such as AAT Level 2 or Level 3). You'll benefit from dedicated study time built into your working week, with full support from the team as you balance on-the-job learning with your studies.

Business Support Co-Ordinator

The Business Support Co-ordinator plays a key role in creating a professional, organised and welcoming experience for both clients and colleagues.

Acting as the central point of co-ordination for front of house, office operations and business support activities, this role helps ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

From supporting client onboarding and compliance processes to organising meetings, events and stakeholder requirements, the Business Support Co-ordinator is instrumental in delivering a high-quality service experience and maintaining an efficient, well-organised working environment.

  • Front of house - Be the first point of contact for all enquiries and co-ordinate the effective delivery of our front of house operations.  Ensuring all visitors receive a warm welcome, are well organised and looked after.
  • Office Co-ordination - Oversee and organise the effective running of our office on a day-to-day basis.  Ensure meeting rooms are well maintained and organised with diaries and monitor and replenish office stock.
  • Diary and event support – Provide support to the directors and other senior stakeholders with diary management where required.  Source and co-ordinate external event spaces for external meetings or team away days and work with the Practice Lead to co-ordinate these events ensuring they are well organised and deliver the desired outcome.
  • Client Experience and Onboarding – Provide support to the Practice Lead with non-technical onboarding activities ranging from AML checks, gathering clearance information and loading jobs on to our CRM.  Ensure all clients receive the high levels of service experience in line with our standards and maintain data integrity standards and ensure that regulatory and compliance requirements are achieved in line with our onboarding processes.
  • Authorisations and compliance support - Work with the office support senior to ensure that relevant authorisations are received for VAT, CT and PAYE and ensure that authorisations for filing personal tax submissions are obtained
